

Senior Ecologist
Nathan is a senior ecologist and has been working in the ecological and environmental fields since 2014.
Bio
Nathan holds a B.Sc. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Guelph and a MES from the University of Waterloo, with a specialization in soil science, climate change mitigation, and restoration ecology.
Nathan brings extensive experience conducting flora and fauna inventories across Ontario, with particular expertise in herpetofauna, bats, species at risk, and the evaluation of significant natural features. He has also completed a range of aquatic assessments, including habitat evaluations and fish community surveys. Complementing his ecological fieldwork, Nathan has a strong foundation in hydrological principles, soil science and sampling, and climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
In addition to terrestrial and ecological monitoring, Nathan has significant experience in construction monitoring, project management and coordination, and technical reporting across a diverse range of sectors, including land development, aggregates, transportation, energy, and municipal and regional infrastructure. He also brings valuable scientific research experience to his work.
Nathan has a comprehensive understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal legislation and policies, and their application throughout various project stages, including Class Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Studies, and Species at Risk (SAR) permitting and reporting processes. His experience has led to a particular focus on natural heritage system planning, policy analysis and review, and the provision of peer review services for municipalities.
