Aquatic Ecologist

Owen is an early-career aquatic biologist with a passion for freshwater ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and supporting sustainable solutions for natural systems.

Bio

Owen holds a B.Sc. in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the University of Guelph, where he developed a strong foundation in ecological research, scientific writing, and field techniques, with a particular interest in aquatic ecology.

He brings hands-on experience in aquatic fieldwork, including fish community assessments, fish relocations, benthic macroinvertebrate surveys, and aquatic habitat assessments across lakes and rivers in Ontario. Owen has also contributed to terrestrial monitoring programs, including bird, anuran, and bat acoustic surveys, supporting a well-rounded ecological fieldwork background.

Owen has experience preparing technical reports, project proposals, and regulatory permit applications, including successful submissions for Licences to Collect Fish with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. His work demonstrates strong capabilities in data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of environmental assessment and regulatory compliance.

As an Ecologist with North-South Environmental Inc., Owen applies his field expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaborative approach to multidisciplinary projects involving both aquatic and terrestrial systems.
