Shannon has been working in the field of ecology since 2006 and is qualified to complete Ecological Land Classification (ELC) and wetland evaluations (Ontario Wetland Evaluation System).

Bio

Shannon has an M.Sc. in Botany with a specialization in restoration ecology from the University of Guelph and a B.A. and B.Sc. also from the University of Guelph.  She brings 17 years of experience working with natural heritage and its applications with various policies and projects across various industry sectors including aggregate, land development, oil and gas, linear infrastructure and renewable energy. She has authored and reviewed natural environment reports (NERs) for aggregate applications, subwatershed studies (SWSs), master environmental service plans (MESPs), environmental impact studies / assessment (EIS / EIA), natural heritage reviews and constraints analyses, natural heritage evaluations (under the Niagara Escarpment Plan, Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan and Greenbelt Plan), species at risk assessments and authorizations, environmental assessments (EAs) and ecological restoration, as well as input into expert witness testimony.
